Flow: the cultural story of menstruation

A fascinating, occasionally wacky, and sometimes downright scary story, covering everything from mikvahs (ritual cleansing baths) to menopause, hysteria to hysterectomies – not to mention the Pill, cramps, the history of underwear, and the movie about puberty they show you in fifth grade.  With colour reproductions of (campy) historical ads and (excruciating) early femcare devices, it also provides a fascinating (and mind-boggling) gallery of this complex, personal, and uniquely female process.  This book mesmerized me.  I learned more about myself and about being a woman in the two days it took me to read it than in the last 35 years of my life – read the book yourself, you won’t regret it!
