Risk: the science and politics of fear

Awesome book. I agree with author Dan Gardner: we are indeed afraid of the wrong things.  Fascinating interplay between Head and Gut.  I love the image of life as driving the car on the freeway, the driver is Head – a lazy teenager who knows that she should have her hands on the wheel but would much rather catch the breeze from the open window – and Gut is the caveman in the passenger seat constantly demanding to drive.
