Between the Lines – Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer

Although this is not my usual genre, I really loved the concept of the story. Delilah is a teenager that doesn’t quite fit in, preferring to spend her time immersed in reading.  The problem is she is obsessed with one book, a fairy tale titled Between the Lines. Delilah is fascinated with the main character, Prince Oliver, and continues to read the story again and again until one day Prince Oliver actually speaks to her from the pages of the book. A mission entails to help Oliver in his quest to escape the story and realise his true destiny. A great summer read which poses the question, “do characters in books have another life when the book is closed???” (submitted by JF)
